TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: September 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all enquiries, viewings and bookings made with Mayfair Grand, Haynes St, Rochdale OL12 0UW ("Mayfair Grand", "we", "us" or "our"). By making an enquiry, booking a viewing or confirming a booking, you ("the client", "you" or "your") agree to these terms.

Your individual booking agreement will set out the specific details of your event, including your chosen package, date, guest numbers and fees. Where your booking agreement differs from these terms, the booking agreement will take priority.

2. Enquiries and Viewings

Enquiries made through our website, by telephone or by email do not reserve a date. Any date we discuss with you is only held once a booking has been confirmed in writing and the booking deposit has been received.

Viewings of our halls and rooms are available by appointment. We may occasionally need to reschedule a viewing because of events taking place at the venue, and we will always let you know as early as possible.

3. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is confirmed when you have signed your booking agreement and paid the booking deposit. We will then send you written confirmation of your event date, package and the key details agreed.

The person who signs the booking agreement is responsible for the booking, for all payments due and for the conduct of their guests and suppliers on the day.

4. Deposits and Payments

A booking deposit is required to secure your date. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be confirmed in your booking agreement. Unless stated otherwise in your agreement, the booking deposit is non-refundable, as we turn away other enquiries for your date once it is secured.

The remaining balance must be paid in full by the date shown in your booking agreement. If payments are not received on time, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled, in which case the cancellation terms in section 7 will apply.

5. Guest Numbers and Timings

Your final guest numbers must be confirmed by the date stated in your booking agreement. Charges will be based on your confirmed numbers or the actual number of guests attending, whichever is higher. Guest numbers must not exceed the maximum capacity of your chosen hall for safety reasons.

Access, setup and finishing times are agreed as part of your booking. Events running past the agreed finishing time may incur additional charges and are subject to availability and our licensing conditions.

6. Changes and Postponements

If you would like to change your package, add additional services or move your event to another date, please contact us as early as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may affect the price of your booking.

Where we are able to move your event to a new date, payments already made will normally be transferred to the new booking. An administration fee or price difference may apply, as set out in your booking agreement.

7. Cancellations

All cancellations must be made in writing by the person who signed the booking agreement. Cancellation charges depend on how close to the event date the cancellation is made, and are set out in your booking agreement.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking for reasons within our control, we will refund all payments you have made to us in full, or offer you an alternative date if you would prefer.

8. Catering, Food and Drink

Menus and dining arrangements are agreed as part of your package. Any outside catering, cakes or other food brought onto the premises must be approved by us in advance and must meet food hygiene requirements.

Please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements in advance. While we take great care, we cannot guarantee that dishes are completely free from allergens.

9. Decor, Suppliers and Entertainment

External suppliers, including decorators, photographers, DJs and entertainers, must be agreed with us in advance and must follow venue rules and instructions from our team. Suppliers may be asked to provide proof of public liability insurance and, where relevant, electrical safety certificates.

Special effects such as pyrotechnics, smoke, haze, confetti cannons or open flames may only be used with our prior written approval. Nothing may be fixed to walls, ceilings or fittings without our permission, and all items must be removed at the end of the event unless otherwise agreed.

10. Venue Rules and Conduct

We want every celebration to be enjoyable and safe for all guests. The client is responsible for making sure guests and suppliers behave respectfully and follow the instructions of our team, including all health and safety and fire safety requirements.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the building. We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or remove, anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, abusive or likely to cause damage or disturbance.

11. Damage and Responsibility

The client is responsible for any damage to the venue, furniture, fittings or equipment caused by them, their guests or their suppliers, beyond normal wear and tear. The cost of repair, replacement or additional cleaning may be charged to the client.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times while on the premises.

12. Liability and Insurance

We take every care to look after our guests, but we cannot accept responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, personal belongings, gifts or supplier equipment left at the venue, except where this results from our own negligence.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. We recommend that clients consider event insurance to protect their celebration.

13. Events Beyond Our Control

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in providing our services caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. These include severe weather, fire, flood, utility failure, government restrictions or public health measures.

If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible and work with you to arrange a suitable alternative date.

14. Photography and Marketing

From time to time we may photograph or film our halls and decor set-ups for use on our website and social media. We will only feature you or your guests in our marketing with your permission.

If your photographer or videographer shares images of the venue with us, we may ask for permission to use them, and we will credit them wherever possible.

15. Website Use

The content on this website, including text, images, videos and logos, belongs to Mayfair Grand or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent. Package details, images and prices shown on the website are for guidance only and are confirmed in your booking agreement.

Information you submit through our website is handled in line with our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie Policy.

16. Complaints and Governing Law

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please let a member of our team know at the time so we can try to put things right. Any complaints after your event should be made in writing, and we will respond as quickly as possible.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. For any questions about these terms, please contact us on 01706 298536 or at info@mayfairgrand.co.uk.
